Norman Train has over 30 years experience in the construction industry having worked for contractors, local authorities and consultants. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a Member of The Worshipful Company of Engineers.

As a graduate, he received experience in site investigations and on major road and drainage schemes with a County Council. He joined Baynham Meikle in 1982 becoming the London Partner in 1987. His principal structural interests are in foundations, refurbishment and masonry and timber construction. He has used his geotechnical experience in investigating a number of foundation and road failures and heads up the environmental work undertaken by the firm.

He has appeared as an Expert Witness in both arbitrations and cases before the Construction and Technology Court and won the Presidents Prize for the highest mark in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Award Exam in 1995.
